RIGHT AND LEFT CORONARY ARTERIES USING TECHNIQUES OF CORROSION.

Morphological examination of the right and left coronary arteries of a male canine (Canis lupus familiaris), the aorta was injected with epoxy resine and immerse in 20% of KOH solution for 48hrs. under direct observation to release and debridae muscular and fat tissue.

Splenic segmentation in pig (Sus scrofa domestica) by diafanization.

ESTUDIO DE LA SEGMENTACIÓN ESPLÉNICA EN PORCINOS (Sus scrofa domestica), MEDIANTE EL MÉTODO DE DIAFANIZADO.

Se practicó repleción con látex a treinta bazos de cerdo, para posteriormente ser sometidos al proceso de diafanizado con hidróxido de potasio KOH y glicerina (método de Dawson).  Los órganos fueron divididos en tres grupos: grupo A: 10 bazos provenientes de animales menores de 60 Kg. de peso vivo (pv); grupo B: 10 bazos provenientes de animales entre 90 a 100 Kg de pv; grupo C: 10 bazos provenientes de animales sobre los 120 Kg. de pv.
Se observaron numerosas ramas que emergen de la arteria esplénica, perpendicularmente al eje mayor del órgano, a las cuales se las denominó ramas primarias (rp). Cada rama primaria se divide en ramas segundarias (rs) que culminan en capilares. Las ramas primarias y secundarias son terminales debido a que no se evidenció anastomosis entre territorios de rp contiguos, determinándose que cada rp irriga un segmento esplénico independiente del vecino, y separado por tabiques de tejido conectivo. Los segmentos están dispuestos como en pila de moneda, similar a lo que ocurre en el bazo humano,  y en promedio en el cerdo son de 50,7 +- 7. No se observaron diferencias estadísticas significativas en el número de segmentos en los tres grupos en estudio.  El estudio radiográfico evidenció una distribución similar a los órganos diafanizados.

Injection of epoxy resin and corrosion cast of cat’s lungs

A euthanized cat was donated to Anatomy lab. The epoxy resin was injected in the trachea of the intact animal body. The cat was frozen for 48 hrs. After the thaw the trachea and thoracic organs were obtained. A corrosion cast using potassium hydroxide (KOH) was performed.
